When I was first on radio
someone called in
and called me
narcissistic.
I had to look
it up.
I am so afraid
of me
how could I be
full of me?
I learned
to stop speaking
in me and mine
but I was
thirsty to learn
and unashamed
to ask.
Was it narcissistic
to say
Teach me?
Soon radio friendships
grew and they
taught me
and I am still
learning and
grateful.
He called back
one day
to say, Kathy
you are you.
I am sorry and
glad
you are you.
No, thank you.
Still learning
through the bits
and pieces of
random people
in and out of
my life.
